August, Monday

August, Monday (working title)

Lost in the violence

Of trying to keep silent

Didn’t see you coming for a thousand miles

How can you hear me

When you never get near me?

Guess you saw me coming from a thousand miles

I need you, you’re my hurricane

You always bring the rain

I need you, bring me back again

Can’t sleep without the pain

Of you

I have not been sleeping

Some strange hours we’re keeping

You can see the damage all around my eyes

Got to dig deep here

Just to keep me complete here

You can see the damage from a thousand miles

Cause I need you, you’re my hurricane

You always bring the rain

I need you to bring me home again

Can’t sleep without the pain

Of you, of you

I feel every little thing

It burns, it stings the memory

Of when I felt so free before there was you

I need to take a little time

Reclaim what’s mine come back to me

Before there was you

You pull me up, you push me down

Every which way but up with barely a sound

You pull me under, till I’m torn asunder

Till I can’t hear you leaving as I hit the ground
